SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Parrot, leader in wireless mobile telephony devices, announces DeShawn Howard of Drops Mobile Electronics has been named Certified Installer Program (CIP) of the Year at the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (MERA) KnowledgeFest.

blog-ParrotAward-Oct2010Drops Mobile of Atlanta specializes in sales and installation for any vehicle. Howard, who has been a Parrot Certified Installer since the program began, will be presented the award at the MERA KnowledgeFest, which takes place Oct. 10-12 in Dallas.

“DeShawn has been a great partner and is very deserving of Parrot’s CIP of the Year,” said Bryan Spears, CIP manager for Parrot. “Georgia also just passed its hands-free law, so DeShawn has been busy helping his customers go hands-free so they can keep their eyes on the road.”

Now two years old, Parrot’s Certified Installer Program has grown by 50 percent in the past year. The program is designed to help authorized independent 12-volt retailers compete, sell and install car kits more profitably. Under the program, Parrot retailers gain access to special selling tools, installation support, exclusive POS materials and promotion programs in return for ensuring their sales and installer teams are up to speed on Parrot products. The retailers also connect with Parrot via a Facebook page with up-to-date resources and news.

To help retailers sell to this broad customer base, Parrot’s Certified Installer Program focuses on strengthening the relationship between Parrot and the installer and enhancing the consumer’s shopping experience through expanded retailer sales training and POS support. In addition, new tools and programs are available for installers to install Parrot car kits quickly and easily without compromising quality.

With many options available, Parrot provides the most comprehensive suite of Bluetooth products for drivers, from installed car kits to cordless hands-free kits that slide onto a visor. Parrot’s hands-free kits combine style, function and a wide range of price points to fit every budget.
